Professor Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele, an academic giant and icon of our time, was born on 13 August, 1963, to the family of Late Chief Maxwell A. Ndimele-Nwaugha and Late Mrs. Augusta Ndimele-Nwaugha in Akirika Ogida in Etche Local Governement Area, Rivers State, Nigeria.  He is the second son in a polygamous family of thirteen children.  He started his early childhood education at State School Ogida Etche; his secondary education was at St. Joseph’s Secondary School Umuaturu Etche and his university education was at the University of Port Harcourt.  He bagged a PhD in Comparative Syntax in 1991.

Professor Ndimele is a university teacher and administrator.  He was assessed for a professorial position in 2003 and was announced as Professor of Comparative Grammar and Communications by the University of Port Harcourt in 2006.  He has held many administrative positions in the University of Port Harcourt including Managing Editor, University of Port Harcourt Press Ltd, Acting Head, Department of Linguistics and Communication Studies from 1998-2005; Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, University of Port Harcourt (2010-2014) and Chair/Director Kay Williamson Centre for Language & Communications, University of Port Harcourt.

Professor Ndimele has served as external examiner and professorial assessor for a number of universities, including University of Nigeria, Nsukka; Ignatius Ajuru University of Education; University of Ibadan; University of Uyo; Abia State University; Imo State University;  Ambross Ali University; University of Benin; Benue State University; University of Lagos; University of Jos; Delta State University; Ahmadu Bello University; University of Maiduguri; Nnamdi Azikiwe University; Federal University of Technology, Minna; University of Ghana Legon, etc.

Professor Ndimele was the National President of the Linguistic Association of Nigeria (2003-2008) and the current National President of the English Language Association of Nigeria.  He was the Rivers State Chapter President of the Alumni Association of the University of Port Harcourt and the penultimate National President of the University of Port Harcourt Alumni Association.  He had served on the governing board of two national bodies: Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC). And he was a member of the Rivers State Scholarship Board.  He was also a board member of the Rivers State Post-Primary Schools Board.  Professor Ndimele was also a prominent member of the defunct Rivers State Economic Advisory Council; he was a member Shell/Oando and Rivers State Oil/Gas Negotiating Team and Rivers State Peer Review Committee.  He also served as a member of the Transition Committee of the present administration in the State.  He is currently a member of the Governing Board of RSUT and member of the State Golden Jubilee Committee.

Professor Ndimele has special gift from God to attract good fortune to whatever he heads.  In other words, whatever he lays his hands on prospers.

Professor Ndimele is married to Mrs. Joy Adamma Wopara-Ndimele.  The marriage is blessed with four children, a boy and three angels.

Mrs. Hope Keaniabarido Kue-Ikoro, the Registrar of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt, hails from Luyor-Gwara in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria.

Mrs. Kue-Ikoro, a professional member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, a devoted Christian, mother of many children, who is happily married to Mr. Kue Leyiga Christian Ikoro, was born on 30th April 1965 in Okwale, Khana Local Government Area and went through formal education, to acquire necessary skills to get to the position she has attained today.

She had her First School Leaving Certificate in 1976 at State School Okwale, completed her Secondary School at the Archdeacon Crowther Memorial Girls School Elelenwo, with a West African School Certificate in 1981, and in 1985 bagged a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) degree in History at the University of Port Harcourt before proceeding for Youth Service Corps from 1985 to 1986 to serve her country, in the Nigerian Airways, Abuja as an Administrative Officer.

From then onwards, Mrs. Kue-Ikoro who enjoys reading, boosted her wealth of work experience with her first appointment as an Administrative Officer (II) in the erstwhile Rivers State College of Education, Port Harcourt, in 1988 and rose through the ranks diligently to Deputy Registrar in 2007, as an Officer in Charge of Establishment and a Faculty Officer of Business Studies consecutively.

When the College was made a University (Ignatius Ajuru University of Education), Mrs. Kue-Ikoro, a strong woman of virtue and integrity did not rest on her oars. She carved a niche for herself as she went on sabbatical leave at Rivers State University of Science and Technology (now named Rivers State University) as a Deputy Registrar in the Academic Planning Unit from 2012 to 2013.  While there, she served as Secretary, Examination Monitoring Committee, member Mock Accreditation Committee, Processing of TETFUND applications and other duties.

She has served in all the Administrative Units of the institution. As a Deputy Registrar, she was in charge of St. John’s Diobu Campus administration.  She also served as Secretary to Appointments and Promotions Committee (SPATS), Secretary to Appointments and Promotions Committee (Academic) Part 1 and handled personnel matters. In October 2016, she became the Director in charge of Establishments Unit.  Later in November same year she became the Acting Registrar/Secretary to Council of the University and confirmed substantive Registrar on 28 September, 2017.

Mrs. Kue-Ikoro has served as Secretary and member of several Committees and Panels set up within and outside the University that uphold values. In her community and beyond, she is known for her philanthropic outreach to the poor.

Dr. Davis Ojima, JP. FNIM, AFA, MIPA, ACTI, FCNA,



Hails from Ohiauga-Ogba in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State. He was born on 13th April, 1964, attended State School Ohiauga and Sancta Maria High School where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate, 1978 and West African School Certificate, 1983 respectively. He further studied in the prestigious Rivers State University of Port Harcourt, then Rivers State University of Science and Technology, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy in 1991 and Master of Business Administration in Banking and Finance (MBA) in 2000. Craving still for more knowledge, Dr. Ojima went further to study at University of Port Harcourt, where he bagged Master of Science (M.Sc) in Economics in 2006 and in 2016 when he bagged yet Doctor of Philosophy in Economics (Ph.D - Public Sector) from Imo State University, Owerri.

Dr. Ojima started his career 1992 as an Audit Trainee in Allwell-Brown & Co. (Chartered Accountants). In 1994, he was employed as an Accountant in the then Rivers State College of Education where he rose to the position of Deputy Bursar in 2006. In 2009, he became the Pioneer Bursar of the University, a position he occupies till date.

He is a member of several professional organizations and bodies. His Professional Membership include Fellow, Nigeria Institute of Management (FNIM), Associate, Institute of Financial Accountants of United Kingdom (AFA), Member, Institute of Public Accounts of Australia (MIPA); Associate, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (ACTI), Fellow, Certified National Accountants of Nigeria (FCNA). He served as Member, Federal Government Special Abisoye Panel for the reorganization of Nigeria Gas Company Warri and Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company, Warri in 1994. He also served his community as Chairman, Community Development Committee and Member of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area Peace and Security Committee. He was appointed Justice of Peace by Rivers State Government in 2007, Ambassador for Peace by United Nations POLAC in 2012 and also listed among the Eminent persons of Rivers State Vol. 1 by Rivers State Newspaper Corporation in 2013. He was a member of Governing Council of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Representing Congregation for seven years. In 2015, the Joint Assembly of Rivers State Youths honoured him with an award for Excellent Performance in Administration.

He is proficient in computer operations and programming and has attended and participated in trainings within and outside the shores of this country, some of which are, World Congress of Accountants in Italy, African Congress of Accountants in Ghana and Mauritius. He also attended Leadership Training at University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States of America, Harvard University in Boston, amongst others.

He has to his credit, local and international journal articles published in his area of reading. His wealth of experience and expertise covers Budgeting, Finance and Accounts Management, Auditing and Investigation, Data management, Taxation, Contract Management and Negotiations, Ensure Statutory Compliance, Staff Training and Supervision, Payroll Management and Program Development, just to mention a few. He has other milestone achievements which include developing and implementing finance and accounting system, supervised and oversaw Payroll and Treasury matters, Finance Advisory Service, Monitored Operations, Mentored Staff to promote unit morale, Ensure Regulatory Compliance on Tax and Finance Matters, he also Improved and coordinated the Internally generated revenue of the University.

Dr. Ojima has family values and he is happily married with four (4) children.

Dr. Boma Obi hails from Bonny having been born to the family of Late Rtd. Major Rowland Pelebo Jamaica and late Madam Grace Nne Jamaica of Allison’s Major house in Bonny Kingdom on 6th March, 1954.

She attended the Holy Child Convent Primary School Abiakpor in Akwa Ibom State and the Holy Rosary Secondary School Port Harcourt, Rivers State where she obtained her West African School Certificate (WASC) in 1971. 

Dr Boma Obi later proceeded to the University of Port Harcourt and she graduated there with honours in English Literature in 1982.  As an Alumnus of the University of Ibadan she holds a Master degree (MLS) in Library and Information Science (1986).  She also obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Library and Information Science from University of Uyo (2005).

Dr Boma Obi has been a practising Librarian and a Lecturer since 1987.  By 2003 she was chartered in her profession.  In 2006 she was assessed and appointed Deputy College Librarian.  She became the Acting University Librarian in 2012, and on 28th September, 2017 was interviewed and confirmed as substantive University Librarian.

Dr Boma Obi is widely published.  She has publications both in national and international materials.

She belongs to a number of professional societies which include the Nigerian Library Association where she served as a National Council Member for two tenure, the Academic and Research Libraries and the Association of Women Librarians in Nigeria.  At present she is a member of the Association of University Librarians in Nigeria Universities (AULNU) among others.  She has obtained many awards religious and secular, and is also an UN Ambassador of Peace.
