Preamble
The Graduate School of Business is anchored by Ignatius Ajuru University in partnership with other organisations and the industry to provide comprehensive graduate programmes in special areas of need targeted at our regional economy. Most of the programmes were developed jointly by the University and the industry, so that products of the programme will be industry-ready to apply their multi-talented skills in the labour market of today and tomorrow. The tutorial staff will provide the academic content of the programmes, while experienced industry players will provide the practical skills needed by the industry.


The Structure of the Graduate School of Business
The School hosts two separate faculties and it is structured, as follows:
Faculty of Business and Economics, and
Faculty of Maritime Studies

Objective
The education sector in Nigeria in recent years has come under severe criticism, because of the quality of their products, particularly in meeting the demands of the modern industry. The purpose of setting up the School and its programmes is to cause a paradigm shift to happen.
Justification
The School draws experts from the academia and the industry in running virtually all its programmes. The teaching staff are to be drawn from higher institutions of learning in the State and beyond, supplemented by professionals in the industry where industry experience is critical. Industry input is key to the success of the programmes.
Organisation
The minimum duration for each programme is 12 months or 24 months depending on the choice of a particular candidate in completing the modules. Lectures hold only on Fridays and Saturdays. Lectures on Friday begin at 5PM and ends at 7PM. Saturday lectures begin at 10AM and end at 5PM. All the programmes in the School are part-time.
